Kagan Eagle Child
Kagan Eagle Child is an Indigenous sound engineer and musician with a passion for multimedia and community connection. He is a graduate of the Alberta Academy of Recording for sound engineering and a recipient of the prestigious National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation (NAAF) Award for multimedia. Kagan also completed the University of Alberta’s Indigenous Canada Course, enriching his understanding of Indigenous culture and history.
His professional experience includes serving as the Arts and Culture Revitalization Lead at a Vancouver non-profit, where he advanced the organization's language curriculum by creating an audio dictionary, redesigning workbooks, and producing educational videos to accompany them. As a freelance sound engineer, Kagan has worked on projects like Eden Fine Day's “White Tears,” which gained recognition on CBC’s Reclaimed. His extensive creative expertise spans skateboard videos, music videos, podcasts, albums, graphic design, and more.
Having been a member of a band himself, Kagan understands the challenges faced by smaller shows and venues in gaining visibility. This personal experience inspired him to establish a resource like Catalog Media Holdings Inc.—a platform designed to amplify local talent, provide equal opportunities for artists of all scales, and ensure communities have easy access to events and creative endeavors. Currently, Kagan serves as the President of Eagle Raven Entertainment Inc., continuing his mission to empower creativity and connection in local communities.
